From Fellowship to Fort Worth

When we moved to Knoxville after grad school, we attended Fellowship Church, where we joined a small group of couples who soon became good friends: Wes and Jess (a.k.a. Wessica), Cameron and Courtney and their daughter Chloe (C3, which has now become C5), and Brent and Lindsay (a lethal mixture of Aggie and Vol), pictured here with their son Elijah:

Brent and Lindsay have been great friends over the last few years. They have long had a desire to be engaged in full-time service to the church through dedicated mission (in fact, they met on a mission trip in Latin America). Now they have the opportunity to realize that vocation further: they are joining Campus Crusade for Christ in working with universities around Fort Worth, Texas. As their site says,

We are ministering to college students in the Fort Worth, TX area. There are over 100,000 college students in the Ft. Worth metro area on several different campuses. We walk with students, presenting the gospel to the students we come in contact with. We build students up in their faith through one on one discipleship, bible studies, and retreats. And then we send them out, either to the workplace as a Christ-centered laborer or in ministry, if they choose. Our desire is that each student that leaves our ministry in Ft. Worth will be equipped to share the gospel with those the Lord places in their lives, wherever they go.

We're thrilled about this calling on their lives. Being at university was such a formative time for both Julia and me - a time when decisions are made that will continue to affect one's entire life. Naturally the task is daunting, and Brent and Lindsay are looking for people to stand with them in prayer and financial support. Of course, most of you don't know the Gosnells, but we thought we'd post this in case someone out there had a transformative experience in a college ministry and is looking for a way to enable such experiences for others.
