France in photos

We've just returned from a rich and memorable Holy Week spent in France with friends. We took the ferry and drove to the little village of St. Germain-des-Pres in the Dordogne region of southwest central France. The château in which we stayed turned out to be the real deal: spacious enough for 11 of us to inhabit without feeling crowded, set on a large estate overlooking the village and dating back to the 16th century - it felt like we shouldn't be there. As this was our first proper trip to France, we had our eyes and ears open as we visited nearby villages and experienced a bit of life in the French countryside.
