Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon

This afternoon we took one last deep breath before the plunge by visiting the town of Shakespeare's birth and death, Stratford-upon-Avon. It took us about an hour to drive there, then we (eventually) found a place to park and walked to tour the house where William Shakespeare himself was born:



After that, we skipped ahead to the end of his life, and strolled over to Holy Trinity Church, where the bard was buried:



Finally, we strolled the scenic streets of the quaint English city, indulged our newly discovered love for Indian food, and saw a Royal Shakespeare Company production of Twelfth Night. We both agreed that the performance of the play could have been better in parts, but one surprise: John Lithgow (from, e.g., Third Rock from the Sun) played one of the leading roles, Malvolia, and he was really good!
