A Trip to Nether Winchendon

Today we visited Nether Winchendon House - a 'great house' that is on our regular running route.

About twice a year they have open days at some historic houses, and today happened to be one of them!

The house dates in part all the way back to the 12th century, though much of the external area comes from the 18th century. Previous owners include the last British governor of Massachusetts - kind of a dubious distinction, eh?

Our trip included its own little version of Cuddington rush hour traffic (I know, that is probably the dorkiest thing anyone has ever written).
